What is Healing Sound?

We are all connected, and one of my favorite ways to feel the connection between body, mind, and spirit is through Healing Sounds.

Nothing is at rest. Everything around us, even our organs within us are constantly vibrating and have a frequency, and when this frequency within us is in harmony, we are in a state of well-being. That is why auditory neurophysiologists, such as Dr. Tomatic, from France, have studied and extensively researched this field of Healing Sounds for many years, and they believe that our ear plays a very important part in how we feel; it affects our entire nervous system. They say that the sounds we listen to. whether music or something different, will dictate our energy level and sense of well-being. Therefore, they use both music and sound as powerful healing tools in their therapy sessions and thus, the science of Healing Sounds was born.

Healing Sounds is the therapeutic application of sound frequencies to the body and mind of a person with the intention of bringing them to a state of harmony and health. It has a healing magical power that has been used by many past cultures through the use of meditation, music, vibrations, and prayers. One good example of this is the Tibetan monks, who used various mantras in their Tibetan medicine. After many years of extensive research on this and many other cultures on the use of sound and music, Jonathan Goldman, M.A., an international authority on sound healing and a pioneer in the field of harmonics, created the formula: FREQUENCY + INTENTION = HEALING.

This is a field that I find fascinating and which I have experienced with very successful results. Therefore, I can speak about it from my own personal experience. In doing so, before beginning any healing sound session, I feel it is most important to find out what your intention is because that intention is a vibration which carries magnificent power; it is a special energy that you can send out to the universe creating whatever you need.

When you become that sound and you are surrounded by it, you are giving life to an experience that will fill you with joy and peace, and when you let your body melt into your yoga mat, you are giving your entire body permission to relax through the sounds in a sacred space of harmony and love.
